Decisions like the latest one make me glad that I work with international law rather than domestic law. At least I'm unlikely to have to sort through countless howlers for my boss.
That being said, I hope that the people being freed under the new law will make the most of their chance to rehabilitate themselves and become productive, law-abiding members of society. Best of luck to all involved.

...I'm really not certain what Mr. Xu thought I was going to do with three hundred and sixty five boxes of tea, but it was a kind thought. I've sent some samples out to a couple of friends I thought would appreciate it in particular. Anyone who would like to try some, however, is welcome to just comment here and ask. The three kinds I've tried from the lot so far have been quite tasty.

[Locked to friends]
Mum and dad seem positively convinced that Daphne and I are going to wind up positively miserable if we don't get boyfriends soon. Much as I love them, they're driving me batty.
So. What I need right now is for an unattached male friend to offer me his arm at a few social things here and there and for female friends to make sure to ask me how said male friend and I are doing when we're out in public and around some known gossips.
Help would be appreciated, darlings.

I've gotten some of my creativity back. I finished another painting and I'm quite happy with it. There's a storm brewing in the background, and I put in the little flashes of lightning off in the distance.
In other news, I'm to accompany my boss and several others to a trip to Japan to meet with some of the Japanese wizarding officials. Daphne, would you mind popping in to my flat to feed Muffin? I'll be gone for three days next week.
Also, clearly there need to be more social events. My place. Tea, ice cream and other treats. Who's interested and what days are best for you?

I've finished off a new painting if anyone is interested in taking a look at it. It's just a landscape scene, but I charmed the picture just right so that it moves quite naturally. I'm quite pleased with how the water turned out in particular.
On a more social note...I think I may deviate from the recent norm and try to organize some sort of social event that does not involve copious amounts of liquor. Suggestions would be welcome.

I think I may be the only person who was partially sober at that party. It was a lot of fun, though. I've been involved with work so much lately that I almost forgot what it was like to just sit back and have fun with friends. Not that I don't enjoy meeting all of the people that I meet, but I don't have to worry about being completely appropriate with friends. And no matter what I do, at least half of my friends are bound to do something much worse.

Happy Father's Day to all of the fathers out there.
Also, it looks like there was a mixture of reactions from the ball. I didn't attend because I was in Spain. Mostly on relatively uneventful work business, of course. But Merlin, the sun was lovely. I got a little tan while I was there.
